Tag and Ping is the newest (but not new) marketing phenomenon. Tag and Ping is supposed to take over for and replace Blog and Ping. What Tag and Ping is basically a tagging system that revolves around common sites such as those sharing photos and such. This is otherwise known as folksonomy. These labels or tags are used by search engines to better classify content. The benefit to webmasters is by putting these tags up it increases traffic to their website. Now you will see all kinds of info products on this..in fact I saw one today. I do not think this is new as people have always used social type sites including myspace as a way to get more traffic.
