Why Article Submissons are bad

Everyone seems to embrace article submissions. I do not. Why?

I am not an expert. I sift through the tons of emails I receive and read even more information online. I try to form my own opinions and share what I understand.

There is a big problem these days in SEO. It has to do with articles. Seems everyone is either writing them or finding them in directories and putting them on their sites. This can be very good for your business or basically put it in the toilet.

Think of this. If you find an articles on something like GoArticles, how many other people do you think are using the same article? So if you put this on your website, and search engine spider hits your site guess what? BAM! You get flagged for duplicate content. Search engines are so smart these days. It is not the year 2000. They KNOW duplicate content. They KNOW what you are trying to do. But is there a way around it?

Yes. Write your own articles. I know what you are saying. Yes I hate it too. But nothing can help you more than writing your own articles. I struggle at it just like thinking of doing my taxes. But it has to be done. Get into a routine and write one a week at first. It really is not that hard once you begin doing it. If you hate it like taking medicine, you can go to scriptlance.com or elance.com and get some written for you. I have done this and the average price is $5 per article. But it is YOURS. You own the content. You can distribute how you want. You can rework it, chop it, mash it or do whatever you want. The best part? It is unique, but do NOT send it to those article directories just yet. Why? Read on...

So now you have your very own unique content. You want the search engines to eat it up right? You want tons of backlinks right? That is the point no? Yes and No. While submitting it to 50 article directories will help in getting one way backlinks (very important to SEO), it might be flagged as duplicate content. This what you were trying to avoid in the first place. Besides, by submitting to these directories allows others to use your content which will create more duplicates. So what do you do? More info on this in the next EZine.
